No, this is not a picture of “Two Men in a Slit Trench”!
- Tom Russell and Reg “Slim” Moore enjoy the sunshine at the No.3 Squadron Memorial at RAAF Base Richmond, on Sunday 22nd April.
Both are veterans of the pivotal Battle of El Alamein, 70 years prior.
The historic Air Force chapel behind them is now known as the “Fred McKay Chaplaincy Centre”, in honour of the famous Desert Air Force wartime Chaplain.
